New 2822 storage solution lowers the entry-level acquisition cost for enterprise-class storage while delivering the availability and reliability of high-end systems.

MILPITAS, CA, May 24, 2004 --- Engenio Information Technologies, Inc., formerly LSI Logic Storage Systems, Inc., today introduced a new entry-level, enterprise-class serial ATA (SATA) storage solution that utilizes the company's new 2822 storage controller and SANtricity™ Storage Manager software. Last year, Engenio was the first storage vendor to deliver SATA technology in an enterprise-class system.

The 2822 storage controller offers an affordable enterprise storage entry point without sacrificing scalability or high-end functionality. It integrates 2 Gb/s Fibre Channel connectivity, low-cost SATA disk drives and powerful storage management. This combination makes the 2822 the solution for entry-level to mid-range requirements that need lower cost storage, and the features offered in Fibre Channel-based storage systems.
