Like the controller module, the array module houses redundant controllers – providing 2 Gb/s host or SAN connections, intelligent RAID firmware, and support for capacity expansion through the addition of drive modules.

Array modules are unique as they support up to 14 Fibre Channel or serial ATA drives in addition to the controller – creating a fully-feature storage system in a single 3U module. The array module has two Ethernet ports, one per controller, for remote management from anywhere on the network. Additionally, each controller has an RS-232 interface connector for troubleshooting and running diagnostics.

All primary components of the array module are hot-swappable, customer-replaceable units (CRUs). Each CRU can be easily accessed and removed or replaced.
